Community Participation Services

Promoting individualized services that give people with developmental disabilities the opportunity to be active in their community, try new things and explore new interests.

Community Participation is a ministry-funded program that gets people involved in their community through recreational, practical learning and volunteer activities. Certified staff and volunteers accompany participants and support them during the activities.

Benefits include boosted confidence, a feeling of inclusion, a sense of accomplishment and new friendships. Also, depending on the activity, other advantages include increased hand-eye coordination as well as mind and muscle relaxation.

Our team at Community Living Glengarry can help each individual create a schedule of daily activities that is as unique as they are. Classes are offered in small groups to ensure that our qualified support staff can fully assist participants.

Please note that space is limited. To take part in a class through a funded space, people must be registered with Developmental Services Ontario (DSO)Passport or personal funds may also be used to cover the cost of support staff during classes. In both cases, additional costs may apply, such as for a gym membership or art supplies.
