Supported Employment Program

SE 1The Supported Employment provides services to adults with an intellectual disability in attaining and maintaining jobs within the community, taking into consideration the person's interests and personal goals. These jobs are inclusive of paid work, work experience, self employment and volunteering. This sesrvice promotes pride, respect, satisfaction and value both to the employee with an intellectual disability and the employer.

The Supported Employment Program offers assistance through (job coaching) and regular follow-up to people registered in this program to learn and carry out the responsibilities associated with competitive employment and/or volunteer work.

The benefits to employers are:

  • Candidates are motivated and eager to demonstrate their capabilities
  • Candidates have proven to have long-term commitment to employers
  • Consultation and on the job training are provided by our Job Coach at no cost to the employer or the candidate
  • SE 2Support in applying for wage subsides
  • On-going consultation and support to the employer and the candidate to maintain a healthy and productive working relationship
